Since I put on my AEV snorkel, I deleted my antenna. I want to relocate it to my Go Rhino sport bar with a shorty antenna. That should get my reception back. What types of connectors and cables would I need that will result with a female fitting screwed into my sport bar that I can screw a shorty antenna into? I’m new to the communications world and don’t know the names of all the standard connectors, I just want to be able to order all the **** online, run an extension to the back of the truck and then go up high to my sport bar.

Some truckstops sell an external cable that'll let you relocate the antenna. Itll have a small end with a prong and the other will be larger with a ring nut. Then you can even use a short cb antenna.

I was able to keep it simple, I found this guy on Amazon. Plugs into the connector under the dash instead of having to go all the way back to the back of the radio. I’m gonna hide it up inside the headliner near the passenger visor, keeping everything inside the cab and completing my antenna relocation for less than $9. Bonus points, now that I will remove my stock antenna completely, I have an unused grommet in the front passenger door jamb I can use to run my new GMRS antenna through. I plugged it in and tested it, I seemingly get the same reception I got
before.

Any chance we can see the connector under the dash?
