I noticed the antenna on my 2019 Classic seems to thread into its mounting bracket. I see it has a spiral wire wrapped around it too. Is it removable? I ask because going through a car wash it gets slapped around pretty hard.

Yes the antenna unscrews and a lot of people swap them for something shorter.
This is probably the best reception for a "shorty" antenna: AntennaMastsRus - The Original 6 3/4 Inch https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M6CAZKK/

I tried that exact antenna the reception just plain sucked. If you have any obstructions in the way (Mtns, Hills, Bldgs, etc) you'll have degraded signal. Besides that it literally broke as it froze in the threaded well and I couldn't get it out. I changed to a 12" spiral wound antenna and it works like stock and has NO wind noise. And it comes right out at the car wash.

You're lucky it didn't get bent. When I had my long antenna on I just had it hand tight so I could easily remove it if I went through a carwash. But I put a 7-inch shorty on from AutoZone.

I cut my factory antenna in half with a hack saw and put it back on. Radio works, sometimes better than others all depends on signal strength and interferences. Works for me and doesn’t get slapped around like it did when sticking above roof line.

There is no wire wrapped on the factory metal antenna, it is just a spiral flat spot.

My antenna has been in the back seat of my truck for probably 2+yrs.
Originally took it off for the car wash and just never put it back on. I never listen to the radio!
