Any NEGATIVES to installing a 180* tstat?

Other than your heater not getting as hot, is there any disadvantage to this? I live in Tennessee so winter here is between 30-40 degrees mostly, so not too bad. Most other months are spring/summer like conditions.

You should be Ok (when its cold out) for not getting the Code, "You took to long to warm the motor or too long for your stat to open" Cel. If it is a Jet Probably even better, I have to take it out for the winter.

Only real negative is slightly worse mileage. The cooler motor will use a little more fuel, so mileage may drop about .5mpg. IMO the performance benefit is worth it though.

I still need to do this but living in colorado its tends to be winter more than spring/summer. I wasnt aware that i would gain any performance adding the 180* stat I already have the flexalite 183 so im wondering if that will help my e-fan from running so much. Bc right now it doesn't matter what the weather is like, it seems to run all the time.
