Anybody know what this is?

Saw this today when I was changing my oil. Its a plastic piece of some kind that's attached to the transmission. It's rubbing the drive shaft.

I vaguely remember news or forum coverage of a safety recall involving a heat or some type of splash shield not properly installed, causing it to rub on the driveshaft and cause more damage.

Have you checked the NHTSA.gov website for any potential recalls for your vehicle?

Self polishing driveshaft. Hahaha. But seriously if it's just a piece of plastic I'd get it out of there

Is it actually attached to the truck? Possibly a piece of road debris like a mudflap or something, that flipped up and got jammed in place?

2018 and you just noticed this? maybe it was supposed to be above the drive shaft and someone didn't install it right?
