Thinkin' of doing this after I'm lifted. I'll recruit a buddy though. He's put a set on every truck he's ever bought.

I got my set of OEM clearance lights in today. Seems like a easy install. Will be installing this weekend I hope.

Do you guys know if there is wiring close by or would that only be on the 2500's to hook in to?
I would like to do this to but since I"ll probably never lift my truck it probably won't get done. I think they look great though.

Don't know about the 4th Gens but 90% of the 3rd Gens had the wiring already in the passenger A-pillar. Wouldn't hurt to look there first.

I did mine last summer. Added em to my 1500 for the looks. I bought the mopar light kit cheap online and really liked the layout they give you.

My have not leaked since I added a good amount of silicone to each light. And tapped into the factory cab light wire.

The only thing that I kinda have an issue with is the roof pushes in more easier then before the lights. But it doesn't harm anything, just what I've noticed

Since I do not want to do this by my self I will probably go to my dealer. They ask me 150$ for the light itself and 2.5 hours of labor time for a total of 350-400 installed. Not so bad considering that gm asked me near 1000 $ for the same thing on my sierra .... :Hump::Hump:

Did my 03 1500 w/Mopar Kit. No Leaks Looks Good. Bought the required white (Metal) hole-saw blade and with the Huge Paper template went to town. May have done a thread but can't remember. Watched Rubberfrogs Video First then pulled the Trigger.

^ Those look great. I want these, but I cringe at the thought of that many holes in my roof. Sure, it may not leak/rust after the first 2-3 years, but what about year 7?

Thanks!!

It took awhile to get the nerve to drill the first hole. Once the first was done there was no turning back.

As for rust. I put some touch up paint around the hole as well as thread lock on the screws.

Does anyone know if you can have the cab lights with a sunroof? I have a sunroof on mine but always wanted to go back to the dealer and have them install the lights.

Do the Recon's come with a template for the holes or did you have to measure them out on your own?

They come with a template for 3rd generation. You can use it. I just thought the lights looked to far back. So I moved them up almost 2 inches.

Also 3rd generation had a harness on the passenger side. 4th gen do not. I create a wire harness in series. The directions show you how as well.

According to the instructions from Mopar you tap in under the hood in the fuse block. It says to tap into spot 50 and it should be a white/light green wire. Mine is white and yellow. Spot 49 is white and green. Where did you guys tie into for the power?
