Anyone do smoked lights cheap?

Anyone know how to smoke stock taillights dark black? Or have any they can sell? Or maybe even some sweet aftermarket ones?

Film or VHT nightshades and do it your self

Retroshop sells some BA tintes taillights, oem or aftermarket

I had a bad experience with a set of tinted LED taillights and won't go that route again

film and VHT both dont last. the vht start fading especially when you go through car washed or use a power washer, and the film is hard to get perfect and if you do it can get a scratch that will result in it peeling. My suggestion is send it to retro solutions if you dont want to pay that much then get s good paint that is made to bond to plastic such as krylon fusion and do them yourself that way

I cant say enough about how impressed I was with VHT, put 3 coats of that plus 3 coats of clear. tail lights are still bright enough to see but I also added a light bar just incase.

It doesn't fade of you use a good clear coat.
Can't argue that retro shops are a much better quality though

I've gotten a few lights in that people VHT'd...........and, while I'm sure it can be done nicely.........well, the ones I saw were pretty ratty. Dull, cracked, etc. Eh.

We use automotive paint, and on the tinting - thinned down a hair to still allow red through (levels 1-2). Level 3 is pretty dang dark.........and I've had customers ask for "level 5". Ummmm........show use only please. LOL

Anyway - bottom line, yes, there are a LOT of ways to do this (as mentioned above). Its a service we offer as well, and can start with new tails, cores, or use yours. $100 shipped (to you, using your set) on a set of tails, done with a quality product from the right tools (aka, no spray bombs here).
