This is where I’m at. The highest part is about 50.5” high at about 12.5 ft away

That seem right?

For height, the proper DOT method to adjust them is to measure the distance from the ground to the center of your low beam projectors, and make a mark on the wall at that same height. Then park the truck 25 feet away from the wall and set the low beams so that the cutoff lines that the two arrows are pointing to are 2” lower than the mark you made on the wall. AVYnCyP.jpg

For reference, mine is a 2500, and I have 42” from ground to center of projectors. If I set them to 50” at 12 foot, I would definitely be blinding everybody.

Since I don't have 35 feet of level ground near a wall, I have my wife drive the Forester in front, of me, and we keep pulling over and adjusting until my low beams don't go above the bottom of the rear window...

Not a fine science, but useful until I can get into a good flat lot . .

Well I’m in the same boat. Definitely don’t have 25 ft of level ground. Any other suggestions to get them set right?

You could do the same method as I mentioned, but pull directly up about 2’ from the wall and set them at a quarter inch below the mark.
Basically, if you pull up behind an average compact car, and that cutoff line is at or above their side mirror, you’re blinding oncoming traffic.

1/4” below the low beams?

1/4” below the mark that you make on the wall (with tape or something). The mark is at the same height as from the ground to the center of your low beam projectors that you measured at the front of the truck

With the app that comes with obdlink you can view guages, clear codes. For the most part it's just like a scan tool. Alphaobd alone pays for itself and the obdlink really after making one change to your truck. It allows you to change things dealers can't and thing's they can without paying ~$100 /hr shop fee for the dealer to spend 15 minutes on the computer to add or change something.

Is there anything the alfaobd can change performance wise? Keep in mind it’s a 2500 Cummins.

No performance. Alphaobd only can add or change features that factory options. Alphaobd essentially is the witech that dealers use to access the various modules in the FCA line up. Tuning is a different monster. I had a 2010 6.7L cummins that I fully deleted with a mini maxx tuner. I've also owned 2 5.9L cummins. So I'm familiar with the diesel world, not so much with 13+ trucks but it's a similar process with a few added steps.

I'm running Hikari led's and are comparable to a 35w hid. I though about hid's but didn't want to deal with drilling a whole in the dust cover for the wiring. So far I'd say they are just as good as oem or tyc projectors. I think Jimmy07 had said the tint of the projectors more mimic the tyc projectors. The quality of the housing seems to be pretty good quality.

Even with the halogen bulbs that come with it out perform quad headlights. Can't personally compare them to oem/tyc projectors with halogen bulbs, I've had both and used hid's with them.

For the price they are a great deal.

Anyone have good pics of where the Front End harness connector is located? I know it's located under the fuse box, but how much needs to be taken apart to get to it? How much "manipulation" room is there for adding the two pins necessary to wire the DRL light operation?

My lights finally arrived, and I too installed the Hikari LEDs into them, but it was dark and I didn't want to mess with trying to install them tonight- I'll be doing this tomorrow and any visual cues would be helpful!

It’s the big connector under the box. You’ll definitely know it when you see what’s under there. I posted a pic a few posts back. To lift the fuse box, just squeeze the four tabs at the corners. You’ll have to manipulate a few wire looms to get it up and rotated out of the way enough.
