Here in Indiana we are getting a cold spell of -20 and windchills in the -40s. I put a container of heet in the gas tank tonight and wondered if any of you guys do that to your gassers?

Nope. just buy Ethanol gas.
Think Heet is Methanol alcohol vs Ethanol Alcohol so, theoretically, Heet would allow a tank to hold slightly more water than Ethanol but the difference is to be so slight as have no real world applications.

EIther will keep gas form freezing and adding Heet to ethanol gas could increase your alcohol content beyond Cars recommended limits.

Your truck doesn’t care what the windchill is, it has no moisture to evaporate off it’s skin to make it feel colder, only air temp applies.

In reality, the need for adding heat is nearly a thing of the past. Around here at least it is nearly impossible to buy gas that does not contain ethanol. It will do the same thing that heat does. If you have ethanol in your pump gas, you do not need to add more alcohol.

Haven't used the Heat treatment since my last carbureted GMC truck in 1981.
Along with many doses of STP complete fuel treatment. :hmm: Didn't have to many options for Fuel System Treatments back then.

Like stated above: The use of E5 E10 E15 will render the need for Heat useless.
