Hey guys, I'm thinking about painting or plastidipping my '14 Ram Express grille black to break up the monotonous white. I'm trying to see some firsthand, if possible, first.

I'm trying to decide whether I should do the entire grille, or the cross only.

Thanks!

Don't do the honeycomb part is my suggestion. My friend did it and didn't like it. Took him 3 hours to get the plasti dip off

I would say start with the cross only. See how it looks. Great thing about plastidip is that is comes off so easy (as long as you don't spray it on honeycomb).

If you do decide you want a black honeycomb then maybe look into purchasing the parts instead. I cant imagine with all the crevices of the honeycomb that plastidip would cover it well.

+1 on using plastidip since its cheap and easy to apply and remove. You can try different style and decide afterward which looks best and suits your preference.

Take pics as you go. I'd like to see what the different ways look like. I have thought about this on my white express as well, but it's too damn cold here

My honeycomb is already black so I wasn't planning on doing it. I'm probably just going to tape off everything but the cross and do it.

So when you say "everything" you mean the cross and frame? My personal opinion is to keep the frame color matched to the truck.

Yeah, paint only the cross. Tape off the honeycomb, badge, and outside frame so they stay like they are.

Took mine off and plasti dipped it. Turned out great so far. I've painted 4 times every time it chipped and looked like ****
