Mine went in today for a couple of recalls and they had an update that was supposed to fix some problems with the radio. Mine got to 35% from the USB update at the dealership and got stuck. They are now downloading the update so they can try and do it again. If that doesn't work then they will try and reboot the radio to stock, good luck with that. If it is like a computer (and it is) they would have to rebuild the entire OS it runs on and the devices it talks to. It is probably one of those devices or the driver that it talks to that has a problem. They don't know what the problem is yet. It is in the just found stages. It will take them time to figure out what device the update is trying to talk to when it hits the 35% mark and then why it can't talk to it. Is it a hardware or software problem. If it is hardware then what do you need to replace to fix it? If it is software what do you need to correct in the software to what device or device driver to correct it? Lots of things to try and figure out. They said they may have to replace the radio. Unfortunately, the radios in these things talk to everything so who knows where the problem really is. Their idea of a time frame was 3 days, or 3 weeks, or 3 months; about what I thought. Very similar things happen in the computer industry that I worked in for 45 years. Hope they get the update downloaded and it installs OK. That will be the best ending. If not then they will have the truck for a good period of time while they wait for a new radio, a corrected software update or some other corrective hardware. That is why it could take an unknown amount of time. Not happy but now pissed either. As these things get more like computers and more things tied together you will see more of these kinds of problems so get used to it.
