It looks strange, almost like a prototype or tech sample?I have the opportunity to purchase a 2018 head unit with AA and Android Auto. After searching the site the part #68295726AF didn't showup on the list of head units with AA/Apple Carplay. I have a 2016 RAM 1500 LView attachment 550462View attachment 550463aramie. I don't want to get scammed.
This is not to say it wouldn't work but only that it looks strange. The guys said it was installed in his 2014 Ram and it worked flawlessly.
Not a lot of work at all. You can pick up a replacement touchscreen and digitizer assembly for $150-350 on Amazon or eBay.If that's an 8.4 inch display, be wary of buying a 2018 model. Lots of work to replace the delaminating digitizers that plagued that year.
Ghost touches on the screen (button presses that you didn't do yourself)...What are indications that my 2018 Ram is beginning to experience delaminating digitizers? I'd like to plan ahead for replacement. TIA
I’ve never heard anyone complain about a polarized sunglasses issue. But hey there’s always a firstI'm aware, it is exactly what I did. Buying a 2018 more than doubles your need to do so. Buying a different year 4th gen radio is your best chance of avoiding the extra money and labor.
To address the $150-$350 replacements on Amazon and Ebay, I tried 2, and both worked, with one big flaw. Both had the polarizing running perpendicular to the correct orientation. No big deal, right? Right, UNLESS you wear polarized sunglasses. If you do, guess what you see. Nothing. After returning one screen/digitizer combo, finding the second to be the same way, my only other option was to get non-polarized sunglasses.
Take your polarized glasses, turn them 90 degrees.I’ve never heard anyone complain about a polarized sunglasses issue. But hey there’s always a first
I’ll have to read through more negative reviews
It happens occasionally when the factory workers make a run with the wrong side up.I’ve never heard anyone complain about a polarized sunglasses issue. But hey there’s always a first

My delam started 3 years before the first ghost press, but was obvious as it looked like the screen was "melting" (as it was)Ghost touches on the screen (button presses that you didn't do yourself)...
I did all of this too on my '18, and I would say I spent less than 2 hours total on BOTH the "clean", and the eventual replacement, as part of the LCD died about a year after the digitizer had to be cleaned. Also, as the adhesive melts out, there is a visible "shoreline" between the laminated and delaminated sections. When I replaced my screen and digitizer, I had to spend some time cleaning off the adhesive that melted down the radio, and in the mounting area. It's some nasty stuff, lots of alcohol was involved, some of it to dissolve the adhesive.
The only "4th gen" radio WITH AA/CP is the 2018, unless you mean the "classics", which I though were technically 5th gen radios, and would require extra work to get into a 4th gen.I'm aware, it is exactly what I did. I just tipped my head and checked my factory screen (I removed the LOCA kept the factory screen) and it did what most screens do, blackened or disappeared. I’m the fix for that is stop tipping your head with polarized sunglasses on. Take your polarized glasses, turn them 90 degrees.
Also happens on the screens at gas stations. You step out to get gas, can't see the screen. Take off glasses, there it is.
I did the clean up about 3 years ago and am currently noticing shadows along the bottom right now. I’ll just buy a new screen from a reputable source. My delam started 3 years before the first ghost press, but was obvious as it looked like the screen was "melting" (as it was)

Of your radio calls your ex girlfriend while your current girlfriend is in your truck, besides failing to block the number, you likely have delamination. Also there will be an obvious bubble across the top inch of the screenWhat are indications that my 2018 Ram is beginning to experience delaminating digitizers? I'd like to plan ahead for replacement.
