At My Wits End - Blower Motor Won't Turn ON

Trying to help a friend who can't afford to take his truck to the shop. It's a 2017 Ram. A/C was working fine but the blower suddenly stopped. He claimed that for a while, in order to get it working, he had to play with different setting on the control knob, but then the motor quit completely.

I tested the cable at the blower's connector and was able to read 12v across + and -, and was able to see voltage rise and fall on the center control pin. Figured he had a bad motor, so I bought a motor for him but got the same problem. The blower fuse tested okay, and I even swapped it with a similar fuse with no luck. Also swapped the blower relay with the one next to it but no luck there either.

I read somewhere that there's been an issue with the ground wire being faulty, so I temporarily jumped a separate wire from a good ground to the - pin on the connector, but again, no luck.

As you guys probably know, this model truck doesn't have a separate resistor pack because it's built into the blower, so that's not an issue either.

Now here's something that's really got me stumped. Neither the original blower nor the new one will turn on even if I connect the + and - terminals directly to the battery.

Is it possible that the original blower actually went bad and we just happened to get a bad one from the store?

Please help. We're gonna have another 90+ degree week and he needs his truck for work.

What happens if you wiggle the fuse while trying the blower? Some owners have had burned contacts below the fuse or the TIPM harness/board.

Did you check out some Y/T videos? I see a bunch there on the subject. But I didn't watch them....

I pulled the fuse and the contact pins looked good as new - no burnt marks or corrosion. The fuse fits flush in its socket. Not sure if I can wiggle it, but I'll give it a try. I also tried Y/T, but all they show is the stuff I've already done.

What about the fact that when connecting the motor directly to the battery, that it still won't turn on. Does it need something from the center control pin to turn on even with a direct connection?

Having the exact same issues. I will note that the head unit does click and respond whenever i turn the fan speed on high. So far this is what i have done:
-Inspected the TIPM and fuses for burn marks/corrosion/etc
-changed out the fuse and relay with new ones
-Tested volts at the blower motor connector (12.65v at blue wire)
-bought and swapped out old blower motor with new blower motor
-Tested volts with blower motor under load (blower motor plugged in)
-Inspected HVAC control module and connector for damage/burns/etc.

I will order a new HVAC control module later today in hopes that that may solve the issue, but in the event that it doesn't, Any ideas on what to do next?

I kinda gave up and my friend is just dealing with the heat. Gonna be a pain when it gets cold here in NJ. I'd be really interested in hearing how you made out with the new control module.

I’ll keep you posted. The new blower should be here next week. That oem control module is really expensive so I’m gonna roll the dice with eBay. It’s too damn hot down here In SC to not have ac lol
