I have a set of made in china with what inevitable uses fake CREE bulbs in a sweat shop produced lead based painted aluminum housing, mounted into cut outs in my bumper. in an ideal world, I'd have Rigids. instead I just live in envy and have a second set of the same lights in a box in my garage waiting to be installed when my current set craps out. Funny thing, the pods in my wife's truck front bumper, Rigids.... not sure how she pulled that jedi mind trick on me.

These are not the lights you are looking for....

Little help here, please.

I need waterproof lights.
Since they will be under water, often. (I fish, A LOT, so Life is Good)
They need to look good on an Express.
Would love to have them throw light out, like AustinB's.
A lot of times, when putting in or coming out of the lake, the ramps have no light, at all.

Not to mention, I am out in thr country, often.

What do you guys recommend?

This is one of the best questions I have seen on this forum. So unique. It deserves its own thread.

Buy a set and seal with Flex Seal (as seen on TV)? Maybe search for "marine grade" LEDs?

I am pretty sure the better ones like Rigid and KC are waterproof.

For your application I would recommend spending the extra $$$ and buying a quality set of Marine Grade Rigids:
Marine LED Lights | Rigid Industries LED Lighting, Leader in...

I don't see a cheaper brand holding up too long if there are going to be submerged when your backing a trailer in.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edit:

After looking on Rigids website, I'd say these would probably be comparable to AustinB's: http://marine.rigidindustries.com/led-lighting/30631

Two of them is going to run you $460 though.

Im a little worried about your situation... Ive launched at 100s of boat ramps, 1000s of times... And my bumper has never touched water. What are you doing that your truck is being submerged in water?
Lol

It's way more comfortable noodling from inside the truck bed...

Thats the only thing I can imagine, though it would be awesome... Just drive the truck as far out as you can into the pond, sit back in the bed, few beers, radio on, with some bells on the rods.

Quick question/Idea -
Is there a way to install a 30" light bar in the tailgate and make it invisible? It would have to be recessed and covered with some sort of glass or plastic and color matched. Anyone thing its possible? It wouldn't be easy or cheap. It would be pretty awesome if it could be pulled off.
