hey all hoping for a simple fix here. I just bought a 2018 Ram 1500 Express. 30k on the odometer and seems like the previous owner took real good care of the vehicle. 1st order of business for me was to install the under tailgate lighting that I have had on all my previous trucks. very easy install, plugs into trailer hitch and 1 wire taps into the hot reverse wire inside the tail lamp assy! done this EVERY time I get a new truck. now the reverse light on the left side doesn't work, its not getting power at the bulb socket , its not getting power to the harness BEFORE the connection to the hot reverse wire yet the light strip works in every mode including back up. replaced the bulb even though there's nothing wrong with it , I m at a loss here... any ideas? also note when I did this installation I used a scotch lock when making the connection. so it's not like i jerry rigged anything I did it the right way.

I have a 2014 dodge ram 3500. My boat trailer back up lights do not work. After troubleshooting. I call the dodge service rep at the local dealer. He told me Dodge does not supply back up power at the 7 pin connector.

I just put one of these on my 21 1500 a few weeks ago. It plugs in between the trailer plug and the harness. Works like a charm for a back up light. It seems like it should be possible to get trailer back up lights to work Screenshot_20230310_231022_Amazon Shopping.jpgScreenshot_20230310_231005_Amazon Shopping.jpg

not to be that guy but no you didn't do it the right way. Scotch blocks are the worst way to make electrical connections. They will give you nothing but trouble.
