Recently I started to experience some noise. It sounds like either the tires or bearings. How do I check to make sure? I have Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires on. It sounds like the noise is louder when I drive 30mph or below. Truck have about 52,000 on it and tires have about 26,000 highway miles on them

Duratracs definitely get louder as they get older ... And tires don’t really care if they are highway or city miles ... Lol

A lot of times a wheel bearing noise will change when the load on that particular wheel changes, like on a left or right turn at speed. But not always.

With the Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs the first thing I would do is to rotate the tires in an "X" pattern. This changes the rolling direction of each tire. If it is tire noise the sound will change or possibly be eliminated or at least very minimal. If the noise is bearing related the noise should remain the same.

I will rotate them and see. The sound gets louder if I take a slight turn but only if I drive below 30mph. Faster then that and I cannot hear any changes in noise. BTW it's a humming sound.

Sounds like it's probably the tread on the tires. A wheel bearing should get louder the faster you go and is more of a howl than a hum.

Okay. Rotated the tires and still noisy. So I took a look at the threads again today and noticed every other piece of thread is higher then the other. What might cause that and if this might be the problem.919c93fba599cff78a43c5e40ec0eb0d.jpgd2c81cda74d142ac20d5dd321cccbe42.jpg

That kind of tire wear is indicative of a lack of tire rotation. Should be moving them around every 5,000 miles. It'll take a month or so but they'll quiet down once they can wear even again. If you get extreme bar wear on a tire, check the shocks. The combination of a bad shock and And out of balance tire can be devastating to tire tread.

I noticed this is happening on both front tires only. Should I put them both in the back then? Can too much air in tires cause this? I always fill my tire with more pressure then recommended per sticker on the door but less then max pressure per info on tire. I just don't like the low pressure warning to show every time it's cold outside.
