What type of ballast do I need for upgrading my low beams in my projector headlights to HID? I'm seeing so many different choices (35 watt, 35 watt CANBUS, 55 watt, 55 watt CANBUS) and I just need to know which one is going to work the best to eliminate any possible flickering issues or warning signs on the dash, as well as possibly eliminate the need for any relay harnesses, etc. I'll be upgrading my high beams to LED due to the fact that they go to max illumination instantaneously but they are also much more straightforward to install it seems. I'm only considering going with HID bulbs for my low beams because I've heard HID works better in a projector lens due to the fact that an HID bulb provides 360 degrees of light.

@1500ram12 has posted some good information on various HID set-ups, look up some of his posts or maybe he'll chime in.

I'm running HYB 55W ballasts with Xtremevision 6000k HID bulbs in my 2010 with no issues.
The ballasts are CANBUS safe, and at 55w the 6000k bulbs are closer to 5500k and are pure white.
I have a thread with pics if you do a search.

I'm running 45w HyLux ballasts and 6500k Morimoto bulbs in my TYC projectors. Color is closer to 5000-5500k, and they are incredibly bright. I've had problems with Morimoto ballasts, but had 35w hylux ballasts for a few years with no issue, so went with their 45w. They are huge in size, but so far so good.

BTW, if it helps, my truck is a 2018 model year. I figured I would mention that in case Ram had changed the wiring/electronics associated with the projector headlights at some point.

Did you have to use any warning cancellers or relay harnesses? I'm looking at these and was wondering if I purchased the 55w CANBUS ballast, if I would need all the other stuff as well.

Can't speak to that mfg, but the HYB ballasts are completely plug'n'play, nothing extra needed.
Keep in mind my 2010 is halogen quads original so the HYB was perfect for me, no Alfa necessary.
