So I was driving into work today when I looked at my battery guage and it was sitting above the half way mark .. I was wondering where exactly it should sit or if that could be a sign of something bad to come. Thanks in advance.

Mine runs real high (over 2/3). I tested my battery and alternator at work and both are in good health.

Mine runs around 2/3 mark as well. Sort of freaked me out the first time, used to my *cough* Ford 150s *cough* as they always sat at half and never moved regardless of the ancillaries.

Brand new battery and alternator was tested, everything is perfect - like the rest of the truck. Guy who owned it prior, was extremely particular about everything.

I just replaced my battery about 2 weeks ago and brand new it's right above the half way mark. But will go to about 2/3 depending on the temperature.

I call the battery gauges with a needle Idiot gauges. Only true way to get accurate readings is to install an amp meter and an volt meter. Now the volt meter s the easy install. But an amp meter is a completely different story. Not easy to install but worth the effort.

Thanks guys. It was just throwing me off. It may because I haven't really looked at it too much. It may just be the cold weather we are having too.
