As many of you know I purchased my truck last memorial day 2018 weekend with quick struts and a cheap leveling kit. in July I installed a 6" zone lift and retained the quick struts with the top hat spacer. I then ordered and installed the eibach pro truck coil and strut set to 3.5 and love it. However I am not in love with the top hat spacer. After communicating with Nick from gotExhaust I pulled the trigger on the Fox full length coilover designed for the BDS lift. So I will have a good comparison on ride feel. Some complain they are too soft and others say its too stiff, so I am hopeful to shed some light with my opinion. I may end up removing my TGC rear coil spacer as well if I end up with too much of a rake, Which means Ill need new rear sway bar end links too. Ill do my best to update my update my progress. I will be taking my truck to my lake house in Vermont the end of June(All dirt roads) and then to the Delaware beaches in July so I should have reports on all terrains except for dessert racing

Thank you, Im curious to see as well. Im unable to find much info on them and from what I read they come pre adjusted. Other sources(YouTube) have found that Fox often comes with no rhyme or reason. Hopefully the paper work has helpful information on how to adjust if needed. I added the top gun custumz 1.5" spacer to the 5" rear coils when I put the eibachs on so my initial reaction is that I will need to remove them. The good news is I already have the eibach set-up sold the bad news is the unknown and the wait.
The wait will give me time to figure out how BDS did the math because their regular kit uses the top hat with preload spacer to achieve the height. They ones I ordered list for the 4" and 6" kits so Im not sure if with the 6" its closer to the maximum height?

Don’t want to jinx you but I’m guessing you’ll need the 3” rear coils or you’ll need to adjust them up like you said

I was thinking the same. At least I can live with a tail high rake. When I did the eibach and ended up being nose high just looked a little to goofy for my taste.
The good news is I was able to sell my eibach kit to a guy that has 3” coils. He obviously is waiting for me so I may have to do a trade with him. My concern is the overall length and travel are well represented in the fox paperwork I can find online, but no details on adjustments. Kind of scary as I research everything before I buy it and usually am pretty well versed in its capabilities. I still have 6-8 weeks to research them more, I did a fair amount on these before I bought the eibachs. Sorry for the novel

@JB1 do you know if the rear shocks are different between the 3-5” coils? When you select the option on Zone and Bds it doesn’t mention if they are different.

For the 3" coils use Fox rear shock p/n 98224758

For the 5" coils use Fox rear shock p/n 98224759

They are different I’m glad I asked. Ok I may have to get on the phone with BDS and see if I can get more info. I know that’s kind of like rolling dice

Thank you

If you go to the BDS website and click the regular 6" kit, then click customize kit, then select 3" kit it will add the shocks, then click summary and you can see the p/n......same with the 5" just follow the same steps

If you do lower to 3" coils, you'll need shorter rear bumpstops too. The zone bump stop bracket should be dual drilled so all you'll need to do is unbolt it, rotate it on its side and use those mounting holes to fasten down. You can use the blue torch fab again on the sway bar end links lol

Good to know. I was actually On BDS’s website doing that adding to the cart and checking part numbers just now. It states the coilovers come preset at 6” and can be adjusted to 4” on the main page once you select customize kit. I sent them an e-mail asking for more info and if 6” is the max setting for them or could it possibly go to 8” and be outside their recommendations. I also asked if they could provide me with adjustment instructions with details of adjustment ranges

You may also need a spanner wrench of some sort to turn the collars on the coilover. Congrats on your purchase, and look forward to hearing your review.

Yes they are the same part number for both. In the paperwork it says they are preset for the 6” and would need adjustment for the 4” bit we’ll see

Small update. BDS tech support told me that the Fox 2.5 coil overs come preset at 6" lift and can be adjusted to 7" if the UCA's are upgraded. He then said they do not recommend raising the front of a ram taller than 7" total. I left out that I'm sitting at 8 1/2" right now.
So with out having them in hand yet I believe the limit may be higher and they wont say. I do not want to preload them that much for much truck anyway but I will do my best to evaluate their capabilities.

Estimated delivery?
No updates on that front yet. Nick said that he will provide tracking info when he gets it. As of now they are 5-7 weeks out

I'm surprised it would take so long being that's a standard part included in the top of the line BDS kit.

As long as the suspension doesn't hit any major pot holes you're good.
