So I bought a bed ladder thinking it would be a great help getting into the back of my Ram 2500...but after installing it, I discovered that it was keeping the tailgate from closing due to my bed cover. I tried to move it down to clear the cover but then it was in the way of the cable for the tailgate to lower onto...

I emailed the company to see if they had a workaround but all they said it you can't put a ladder on a bed with a cover. Really?

Am I the only one out here that has tried this and failed? Has anyone figured out how to make this work without having to take the cable off every time you want to use the ladder?

Help?

After a 10 second search I found two different types of bed ladders, actually called tailgate ladders, on Amazon. Posting some pics may help you get some advice. Ram has a factory bed step available too. It mounts under the bumper so having a tonneau is a none issue.

Like Keith I have the bumper fold up step. Works for me. .Sorry no help on the tail gate ladder and cover. But if you decide to sell the bed ladder look into the fold up steps.
several brands out there

There are OEM versions as well

I have the BESTOP brand

I just installed the OEM bumper step yesterday. It works great! Pricey, but I like the way it is "hidden" as opposed to the after-market step that looks like a black brick under the bumper.
