Just installed my Bedrug into my 2019 Ram 1500 Limited and stopped @ the Led lights in the bed. Has anyone been able to come up with an easy way cut the Bedrug around these lights? I don't think you can remove the light lens cover and have it snap back on over the rug. I really don't want to trace around the light through the Bedrug with a exact o knife and possibly scratch up the paint on my truck bed. Plus my cutout would probably look like crap. I wish there was some kind of plastic trim piece that would finish the hole edges that could be added.

Pop one out and use cardboard to create a template. You may try cutting the interior out so you can get an exact template that accounts for the overhang on the light where it sits against the metal. You can also try using a push pin or sewing needle from the backside to mark a corner so you know where to place the template. I don't have the best spacial sense so I like templates and reference points.

If this make no sense let me know and I'll try to do a couple quick photos with the plastic caps from mine.

I bought my Bedrug from https://www.autoanything.com/. It is not listed on their Website yet, They have to special order it and it's shipped direct from the factory. I got mine in less than a week and they gave me a 10% discount to boot.

If you have the 5.7 bed the part number is: Part #: BRT19CCK BedRug Special Order

Any updates on what people are doing with bed lights and bed rails?
I'm at a stopping point until I can get some wiring diagrams. I have the lights attached under my bed rail. I ran the wires from the passenger side to behind the driver's side rear tail and have it all buttoned up for now. Once I know which wire to tap so the lights will come on with my cab/box lights via the factory switch I'll keep going. For the 4th gen you could tap a wire but these trucks are so different that I can't go by the old tutorials available.

Super easy to test at switch in cab.

Super easy to test at switch in cab.
I'm green in the testing area for the switch. I have a tester and know how to test fuses etc but without knowing where to start I'm pretty intimidated by it...I looked through the manual and fuse box covers and didn't see anything yelling at me about the switch but I still have not dug into the box under the column.

Pop the switch out and find the plug going to it. Put one lead of your DMM to ground and the other start probing the wires. Turn on the switch to the position which you want to turn on the bed lights. Check wires until you get 12v. Turn switch off to make it goes to 0v, turn back on to make sure it goes to 12v. Wire in your relay and you are good to go.

If you cannot find switched 12v, try using continuity to test for a negative trigger.

You do make it sound pretty easy. I'll have to give it a shot. I wonder if that switch will be a bear to pop off or not...I have panel tools. I think once I can lay eyes on the switch and wire I'll be in business. I'd like to get through the grommet under the driver side to get into the cabin but even that harness is covered up so it'll take some effort to make it all nice n clean. Thanks

BedRug is in and looks fantastic...now. I’m super pleased with how it turned out. Tailgate gap material folds up and out of the way every time I close it, so I guess the engineers at BedRug know what they’re doing[emoji3].

Also installed my BAKFlip MX4 and went on without a hitch and operates superbly with the BedRug.

the attachment that covers your tailgate will have a velcro strip at the top of it and since the tailgate is not flush you attach that piece of plastic under the 'access' panel then you stick the velcro strip to that flush plastic piece you installed...j-clip

I just loosened the screws on the bottom a bit and really loosened them up on the top to slide the j-clip in there...no need to remove it...

Ok thank you I was confused at first.

Do I slide the j-clip all the way down?

Yep...It will just slide over that lip and it's a pretty snug fit. I actually slid mine on starting at one side and pushed it (left to right kind of thing) until it was centered. Don't forget about the adhesion promoter so the velcro will stay put once you attach it to the clip.

Thank you I will be installing it later today.

Which adhesive promoter did you use?

Will the one in the picture work?

Your bedrug should have come with a little packet (think wet nap) 3M that has the adhesion promoter. That can doesn't look like it would do the trick. From my understanding the adhesion promoter is really made for sticking double-sided tape and the like to plastic surfaces. Also, make sure you wipe the bed down with iso alcohol, even if it's clean, in the spots where you'll be placing the velcro strips. There are a number of good youtube videos that will give you some tips or just an idea of how to tackle it...the youtube videos from realtruck.com were the ones I found the most helpful. They aren't vehicle specific for us but it still is helpful.
