I’ve got JBA 1 7/8” long tubes and a catless y pipe going into a Magnaflow 18” single 3” inlet/ dual 2 1/4” outlet muffler and stock exhaust with resonators from the muffler back. Sounds amazing to me.

What size should I run 1 3/4 or 1 7/8? Would the catted ypipe still need tuned?

1 3/4 is plenty unless you plan to supercharge it or go with a stroker motor. Catted y pipe will still require a tune. That is due to several reasons, like the big increase in exhaust flow, relocation of cats, higher flow of aftermarket cats, and not to mention a tune will get you even more power to take advantage of the LT headers added flow!

Anyone interested feel free to contact me for more info and pricing

I am not going to use SC or a turbo the rest will stay stock.
Not going to dragrace so max rpm for me is something like 3500 a 4000.
I like a lot off torque....

What will be the best chocie for me?

Thanks and greetings,

Erik

ARH Headers and catted y pipe. You will gain hp across the entire RPM band and not see much if any tq loss down low. Plus you couple with a custom tune and you will see power gained all RPM.

If you don't care for the extra HP and just want to stop the broken bolts issue just go with shorties, they will be the lowest cost, you will feel a little low end torque difference. Install will cost less if you take it to a shop, you wont need a tune and if you are required to do emission testing you wont have to worry about not passing if you go with a good brand like JBA, or AFE. If you go with LT and want to keep the cost down go with JBA I've had them for a while no issues at all, best are ARH but you will pay for it. There are other brands out there that can be good with shorties or Long tubes but one common thing that I've heard is to stay away from BBK they are the ones that have the most complaints of failing.

Shoot me a pm with your shipping address and if you would like them to have cats or not and if you would like 1 3/4" primaries or 1 7/8" primaries. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

I really like my JBA 1 7/8” long tube headers. There were some adjustments that I had to make to get them to work but still very nice. ARH and Stainless Werks are said to have better fitment and are easier to install from what I have heard. 1 3/4” headers are even easier to install.

I want to go with 1.3/4" I am not going use a SC or turbo.

Did you used it on a 6 or 8 speed?

What kind of mods did you make?

Thanks and greetings,

Erik.

The BBK 1-3/4” shorty primaries are fantastic for making torque/power with a proper tune, just stay away from the 4014 mild steel version. Lots of weld and blow out failures, they can’t handle the Eagle exhaust temperatures.

I have a 6 speed trans, 180 thermostat, mechanical fan delete and the electric fan is set to come on at 190, Vararam intake, JBA 1 7/8” long tube headers going into a 3” catless JBA y pipe into a 3” single inlet 18” Magnaflow muffler with 2 1/4” dual outlets into stock exhaust from there back, throttle response set to 20% higher than stock, MDS is turned off, and it was just dyno tuned but I don’t have the results in front of me to post a picture of them. I also have a 4” Rough Country lift, 35x12.5r17 ProComp AT2 tires on Fuel rims, and Power Stop z36 drilled and slotted rotors and ceramic pads all around. 6675c522fb0b7b0a41d8b01f97c6596d.jpg
