I bought some sill protectors. They are CF style, and are starting to wear badly, but they do keep it protected.

I had that on my old truck and loved the way it worked but the cable would get hung up or pop out some times when I closed the gate..? Is that a common issue?
The clip on the cable you see pictured in the previous link is meant to prevent snagging but needs to be positioned correctly. I believe you can also adjust the leaf retainer on the cable itself to help keep it from popping off.

I stuck a piece of water pipe insulation on part of the cable, it was about $2 at hardware store. It stopped the cable hang up/pop.

EDIT: actually I put the foam on the cylinder itself

Taking my granddaughter home from the park this evening and wife needed to have a light on over car sea.. My Crew cab only has the single dome light over rear seat with no switch. Blasting the cab with all my red interior leds was only option. Can someone tell me if i can mod that dome light with my red festoon bulb into one with independent on off? Prefer oem mopar but dont know part numbers or RAM model year to search.

Ok, i think 5JG58BD1AD will work. Has anyone done this. Thinking i will need a switched hot?

Thanks.. Bill

So I looked for almost 2 years for a decent priced topper for my truck. I finally found one but its not exactly what i want but im making it mine. I obviously color matched it. None of which was under $100, but heres where I'll start.
The cap that I bought didn't have a rack. So I went to the junk yard and got a roof rack off of a Jeep Grand cherokee $26. Which I have 2 grands of my own, Mopar or no car *******! I sanded it and put a few coats of paint on it. I clamped my cap with super strut from home depot for $28. while adding structural support to the rack and cap, it also gives me the abilityto mount anything anywhere. Such as a ram mount that (I think I ordered from Amazon) I mount my tablet to.
I just added RGB led strip lights in the bed cap of my truck. I ordered them from Amazon for under $30, they came with x2 16' strips that can be controlled by a remote or your phone. They are installed in housings that I got from ebay. It really cleans it up, so you don't really see the cheap ass lights you've hung in your poverty sled.
The caps electrical is wired through a trailer plug connector for easy and quick disconnect. My lazy ass can back into my garage and have my cap off in under 10min for when its time to do "truck ****".

Konfuzed - I’m not a fan of canopies/toppers from a looks standpoint but yours looks great! Hope it serves you well.
