That made me laugh. Thanks. Guys must like to post those because they think the best tire changes year to year. Got to have something to flap the yap about I guess. Given the extensive ratings on places like Tire Rack, compiled from thousands of users over 100s of thousands of miles, along with Tire Rack's own testing results, I have no idea why people want a one of opinion off a Forum.

My dedicated winter tire is the Blizzak DM-V2, hands down.
This tire is like super glue in snow and on ice, and fantastic on the slushy/wet winter roads, especially at highway speeds.
They do have higher wear characteristics than others and a higher cost, too.
But the improved winter road handling characteristics are worth it for me.
I downsize from my 20's with 35" tires in the summer to 17's in the winter.

Mine go to tire for the winter are the Nokian Hakkapeliitta tires with studs, I have used many brands over the years. For many years the Cooper Wintermasters were great then they went to garbage.
I would never run an all season or even a mud tire in the winter if I have any choice.
