Can't understand all these poor mileage complaints. My 2013 1500 crew cab with 5.7 hemi, 6 speed auto and 3.92 rear end running on 87 octane, with OEM tires or I recently replaced them with Toyo Open Country AT II's and I typically get 18 to 19 mpg on the highway, 13 to 15 in town. I figure mileage manually and it's very close to what the computer says. I do drive with a light foot, but highway speed is usually 60 to 70 mph. My truck has 44,000 miles on it and I just did it's first spark plug change. Haven't noticed any difference in performance or fuel mileage. My son's 2017 1500 extended cab, 5.7 L , 8 speed auto with 3.21 rear end will usually get about 2 to 3 mpg better then my truck. At 70 mph he's turning 500 rpm less then I am.

Well what you need to understand is this is the heavy duty section, not the half ton section. They fetch different mileage. My ‘17 half ton with the 5.7 consistently gets 18-20 mpg, while my ‘16 power wagon with the 6.4 gets 11-13 mpg. Its just the way the cookie crumbles.

I started doing this lately just so the damn thing will give me 2nd gear on slow speed 90 degree right hand turns. So sick of being stuck in 3rd at 10mph. I'll leave it out of tow/haul when it is wet, that is it.

I keep threatening to get a Pedal Commander but.....
My foot is my pedal commander. Lol

Do I have an engine in my motorcycle?
Then why do they call it a motorcycle?
They could call it an engincycle I suppose.
But that would be as stupid as your comment.[/QUOTE. Definitely with you on the engine thing and agree on the stupid thing to. Congrats

Buy a deisel. Seriously tired of this mileage. Sure this 6.4 is cheaper, but I am tired of filling up every 150-200 miles . Actually going to go get a GMC hd 2500. Something nice .

I understand your mpg concerns, I have just come out of 2 Ford 6.2's in a row and they are no better. But gees, a chevy?... Take advantage of the solid rebates on 2018 Rams...
