Good choice, ive been using them for my last 2 trucks, no complaints. Tread wear and performance is great.

I loved my BFG's that I had on a couple of trucks....they do ride a little rough, but they are typically used on 3/4 ton trucks....designed for heavy towing and heavy off road use. They are great for traction and long life.

I worked at Sears several years ago....sold tires and batteries. For every ten tires that can back to the store with defects (side wall issues, throwing tread, etc) at least 8 of the 10 were Goodyears…..terrible tires. My last truck had 21,000 and the Goodyear SRA's were bald and splitting in the tread grooves. My new 2018 has the same dammm tire and in the rain yesterday the truck spun at every intersection and around every turn....can't wait for them to wear out....

I agree and wanted to get to about 40k on the odometer then change them out but this happened on two of them!! I only took a picture of the one on the outside. The other one was on the inside of another tire!!4BE4E6DB-E178-446F-8BC4-D521DFE28A06.jpegABD7D579-DD3C-4A52-AC93-5A9DC884736C.jpeg

Nice looking tires. Just ordered a set yesterday. I had them on my 03 Ram but didn’t get to experience them too much before I traded the truck in. I think the tire shop had them at 50-55psi. Way too much. I think I was running them around 40-45 psi. OE speck was 36 psi.

According to my TPMS they are all inflated to 40psi. I know that when we had the cold front a few weeks ago my Goodyear's dropped down from 50 to 38 and the monitor showed low tire pressure. So I am guessing there is a minimum setting that can be changed somewhere to trigger an alarm when they get low.

Pretty much my sentiments as to why I’m kicking myself for buying these damn things. Lol.

I didn’t think that all the Goodyear tires were crap, just these bottom of the barrel SRA’s.

But I didn’t wait for mine to wear out before I yanked ‘em off.

That’s what Discount tire put mine at when I bought them but that was only because it was what I told them to inflate them to after they asked me. I didn’t know no different. It was BFG themselves that said that pressure was dangerously too low and said I needed to be running them at 55. They did feel awful spongy at 39-40. Still rode rougher’n all get out, tho at factory spec for the stock Goodyear’s.

I think I'll bump mine to 45psi and see how they feel.

That’s what I got my back ones at now, front ones are at 50. Seems to be ok on the cold days, but on the warm days, they’ll get up around 50 in the back and they’re right back at being really bumpy so, I just can’t win for losin’....lol.

I've run nothing but BFG mud-terrain tires for the last 25 or so years across 3 vehicles... You shouldn't have any problems with the all-terrain's... I even switched out the tires on Charmin (my wife's Toyota minivan) to BFG brand tires when they needed replacing. My dealer of choice is NTB/Tire Kingdom... They have been -GOOD- to me... It's nice to have a business you can count on!

Thats exactly what I found, couldn't win . Upper 40s felt great on smooth road but on rough road the back of the truck acted like it wanted bounce around to the front like I had the weakest shocks in the world. I fixed that by selling the KO2s. Tired of playing air pressure and vibration games. Went back at 34-35psi smooth ride almost like stock on Nittos that are less than a half inch shorter and almost 20lbs lighter per tire.

I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say that I’m pretty sure his tires are a 6 ply just like the stock SRA’s and definitely not a LT tire especially if they’re that much lighter and are riding that much smoother.

I am pretty sure they are 4ply ( I just looked and can't find where I saw the 4ply rating) but rated slightly higher than the OE GY's load index . I don't understand the need or reason for all of the different ratings that seem to mean pretty much the same thing . Like the load rating , OEs are 114load index the Nittos are 116, The nitto terra grappler G2's rated at 116 are 4 ply , then their is the SL rating which they both oe GYs and the Nitto are. Seems like a bunch of ways to say the same thing to me . Kind of like my BFGs were they said E rated,10ply,126 load index . Seems like a lot of things saying the same things to me or at least thats 3 things I don't want if they are slightly different in their meaning

Well after doing some research, I did find out and can confirm that the stock 20 inch SRA’s they put on the 1500s at the factory are a 4 ply tire. I figured that since these are pickups and not full-size SUV’s that they would be a 6 ply and not a 4 ply.

I have no idea about the nittos you put on your truck but I did find out also that the Michelin Defenders I’m gonna be putting on my truck this weekend are a 4-ply as well but with a slightly higher load index I guess because the SRA’s have a max load of 2,601 pounds at 44psi and my new Michelin’s are like 2,679 pounds of max weight at 44psi.

yup I think mine are like 2700 and something at low 40s psi . I wasnt to concerned about the load rating figuring they were at least as strong as the OE tires. I think once in about 4 years I had anything in the back that weighed anything and even then I forgot to add some air to the OE tires. I wanted to stay as close height wise as I could to the 35" BFGs and I only lost less than a half inch , got rid of the vibes so I was happy. Since then I have removed the rear 5100s and reinstalled the OE shocks that only had about 20k on them. Now roads I wondered why no one complained about here are rough but nothing like they were or even close. I have the fronts set at 1.4. A friend of mine a couple years ago put 1.5" spacers on the stock front struts. It rode like it was just about stock. I may do the same as with my OE struts as now the front is noticeably rougher than than need be compared to the rear. Starting to actually like the truck again.

EDIT 2756 LBS @ 44. JUST FOR THE INFO nitto-terra-grappler-g2-tires

I have the Ko2s, and they have done well so far in snow. Slush they do "okay" for an all terrain. Ice is no good, as with any non-studded tire, non winter tire.
I have yet to have an issue with them in 4x4. This is with a 33x11.5 size, so that says something.

I’m guessing those Nittos are in the stock size? If so, it looks like you have the XL’s which according to realtruck.com, are 6-ply. And it’s 2756 max weight rating at 50 psi max.

I dunno, I’ll just have to see how these Michelin’s hold up and who knows, my next set of tires might just be a 6 ply that won’t hopefully beat me to death like the BFG’s did. lol.

I say that because just for grins and giggles I decided to have a looksee on tire rack to see what all they had in a 6 ply XL in the stock size, and the Cooper Discoverer H/T Plus popped up. Their max weight at 50psi is only just two pounds less weight than the BFG’s at 65psi. Granted this isn’t a heavy duty, 8-ply off-road beast like the KO2’s but damn, if you do a lot of fairly heavy towing with not so much off-road driving and wanna maintain more of your stock ride and mileage when you’re not towing, might oughta give these a look. They’re almost as good traction-wise as the Defenders.

I will have to do some more checking I had not seen mine in xl just SL and max psi was 44. I know they did the trick for me and being I have a 3" BL I needed the height they provide. I lost a little height in the rear by going back to the stock shocks as odd as it sound those stiff ass 5100s actually lifted my truck a half inch in the rear. I dont have the rake I did have which helps make the tires look better being they are less than a half inch shorter than the BFG Rocks

Well, I’m not a tire expert but according to what realtruck says, it looks like your 275/65’s are a Extra Load 4-ply....97cc8be580146ea17c8d046258f1ecfc.jpg

...and that if you would have gotten them in the 275/60 stock size, they’d be an XL also but 6 ply.... be3f38cc1b3402506335d06bb6a52744.jpg
