(DISCLAIMER: I already searched for this, no answers)

I have a 2012 Outdoorsman, plan on installing the adjustable 5100 at the max (2.8) and my question is this - will this level the truck or will I need a rear spacer (3/4 or 1")?

As I measure ground to highest point and center of the wheel wells, this should still leave a 1/4 inch of rear height, which I would prefer.

Has anyone applied the 5100 at max on an '11 or '12 outdoorsman?

Or even at 1.4 or 2.1 for comparison. Thanks in advance.

There is a chance you might be nose high at first but as things settle the front will drop a tad

I was level as far as my eyes could tell after setting them to 2.8. I have a 2011 outdoorsmen. It has settled some now and I am slightly nose down again.

Thanks for the reply fellas.

Put them in this morning at 2.75, and had the alignment done. No wobble or vibrations at 4wd up to 35mph, 2wd up to 75mph.

Ground height at wells Before: F 36.5 - R 39.5
Ground height at wells After: F 38.25 - R 39.5

So being set at 2.75" gave my 2012 Outdoorsman a 1.75" nose lift.

I am very happy with this, it looks just a little nose down, which is what I was hoping for because I like a tiny bit of rake, visually and for highway speed stability.

Thanks again for the help guys.

Wow, your dimensions are nearly identical to mine! I just leveled mine with Bilsteins maxed and I was 36.5" front, 39.5" rear. I'm now 38.5" front, 39.5" rear.....I was surprised that it didn't completely level the truck considering we started with a 3" rake and now have a 1" rake. I think both of our trucks look much better tho!!!

Here's a pic with my Bilsteins maxed

Are you able to install the spring and cap on the strut yourself, or did you have to take it someplace a spring compressor was available?

Also, would it be better to get the 5100 over a leveling kit? HBS is the one I was looking at. What are the advantages of the 5100?

Thanks in advance.

You'll need a spring conpressor as this install requires disassembly of the strut, not just a spacer on top of it.

Highly recommend these over a spacer kit.

And FYI, the tire shop up the road had it done in two hours, with an alignment for $125

Question, do the 06-08 Bilsteins, as well as the ones compatible for 4th gens, have 4 notches on the strut body? Or is it 5?

Nice level!
Its crazy how all you got was 1.75" when it should have been closer to 2.75"
Any idea why?
None the less....being closer to level looks better than 3" of rake ;)

Will installing the 5100, or any lift kit for that matter affect the factory warranty in any way?

The 06-08 Bilsteins have 4 settings...(0", 0.67", 1.34", and 2")

The 09-up Bilstiens have 5 settings...(0", 0.7", 1.4", 2.1" and 2.8")
