Bird pic's with my SLR and 300mm F4 IS lens

I decided to break out my Canon Rebel DS6041 and hook up my 300 is lens which is a BADASS telephoto lens and mess with the settings and take some hummingbird pic's and here are the results and a few of the pic's I already edited in SC5-

Man great pics, how far away were you from them during the snap shots?

Not very far, right outside the door we have a hummingbird feeder. So I just opened the door and set up my tripod on the telephoto and a chair and sat down so probably within 5-7 feet.

lol thats one of my passions -photography. I actually won honorable mention back in 2000 I think for a pic I submitted of a mexican wolf for the popular photography magazine contest. I decided to enter it again this year so I sent in two of the hummingbird pic's.

I own a less exspensive DSLR and LOVe it Olympus Evolt 520 I think is the model number my favorite thing about that camera is lens aren't "brand" specific any Four-Thirds style lens will work.
