So my dealership has a 2026 Ram 1500 Rebel 250th anniversary edition that Ive been eyeballing these past few weeks. Sweetening the deal with 16k off + 10 yr 200k warranty nationwide (and it IS a nice truck), and Im thinking really REALLY hard buying it tomorrow.

Want some opinions, feedback or warnings before anything. I really dont want E-torque, but it is what it is. Im almost afraid to get it because its just a billboard in the cabin with a monitor spread all over the entire dash. Looked at it yesterday and havent had a chance to hear the speakers yet, really wondering how bad (or good) the audio is. I had mine upgraded a few months ago and spent a few grand on it. I mostly want it because its a full size cab and not a crew cab like mine is, and has storage space under the deck. Going out to test drive it tomorrow and I may just buy it...but Im really trying hard to fight that urge, but Ive had nothing but bad fkn luck in Mr blue as Ive been hit 4 times already and it barely has 28k on the odometer.

Should I stay away? get it before its gone? Pay mine off and just live with it? Its almost guaranteed to be a collectors item with it being a 250th anniversary edition (and it is every bit as nice a truck as any other lux truck Ive ever sat in). Only thing Id be interested in doing to it is bull bar, nerf bars and possibly long tube through high flow cats back full on exhaust system.

dealership also flaunted another truck in my face yesterday too...a 2027 Ram 1500 Bighorn Fox Kit 650 Sleeper truck. I looked at it...its a 650hp Whipple supercharged 5.7L Hemi in a bighorn. Nothing special but the supercharger, but at like $90k. I think they're asking about 40k too much for it. Nothing like you would see on their website - not lowered, not lifted, not even a body kit or leather seats or good stereo system.

It's got e-torque... hard pass for me!

Respectfully, it won't ever be a collectors anything, it's a North American truck!

The 250th anniversary stuff looks like it was all added by the dealer, so they can jack the price. I have not looked through the current Ram brochure to see if it is factory option.

Figure the true cost first, ask your insurance agent if this will cost more or less then you are paying now.

"Collectors Item" you're joking i hope :Big Laugh: :Big Laugh: :Big Laugh: About all that truck will do is "collect" a bunch of cash from your pocket and deposit into the dealers pocket;)
With Ram getting rid of E-torque on their new 5.7's that truck won't hold it's value worth squat ;)

I could easily resist that buy, I suggest you do too. Your existing pickup could easily be modded to look exactly the same, and it is a far better rig than the E-Craps they are selling now. Lack of warranty on your existing PU is a plus in my books, no waiting for warranty parts that never show up.

As far as 4 accidents in existing pick up, that sure isn't the vehicles fault and has zero to do with bad luck. Learn to drive defensively or you will be just as likely to prang the next one.

It's never going to be a collectible, and even if it was you modifying will end that. My PW is a 75th anniversary, there's some cool unique things...but it's not collectible and never will be.

Let's review: You owe money on your current truck, you just spent a few thousand on a stereo, and you're considering trading it in (at a heavy loss vs what you've already invested) for a new overpriced truck with a feature you don't want (etorque) so you can have under seat storage and sparkly colors in the interior? And you need our help talking you *out* of that? Ok.

I'd be much more inclined to look at one of the sponsors on this site that take orders for under invoice than take this at $3k dealership discount. It's still shoveling money in the fire, just less of it.

I kinda agree with most. Base truck, base trim, then afterwards you can add anything you like.

My Tradesman came with steel wheels. I told myself they were fine. After several months they had to go. $350 plus a cost to move tires around and the truck is much nicer. Cheap and targeted to my wishes.

Floor mats = cheap
Bed liner (rubber) = cheap
Window tinting, cheap. LED lights cheap. Etc. Etc...

And its kinda fun to reseach the after purchase accessories you want.

Hell my old 14 regular cab sport had 10 way power adjustable seats, with this truck only having 4 way adjustable seats, they've definitely took a step backwards in my opinion

I wouldn't take it for free, let alone the premium $ they're asking.

E-junk isn't worth the grief for me. Even if you get one of the functional trucks, forget about resale, EVER.

At least not without a large financial hit.

My 23 Limited has a great stereo. It’s actually one of 2 reasons I havent traded the truck. The other is I haven’t had any problems with it yet. I thought the newer models were coming with a bigger tank than the 26 gallon one?
it has a +5 gallon tank installed. Ill ask for clarification today on that...

hard pass, what is OP thinking?

OP rumble be is coming, just put a red white and blue 250 sticker in the window. NO E TORQUE. 10 year warranty means nothing if they don't have the parts, man where you been?

I asked about the e-torque thing going away and he seemed to have thought that it wasnt going away due to regulations being stricter nowadays.

Whether the E-junk is discontinued or stays current, the simple fact is that Stellantis has repeatedly been unable to supply warranty replacement parts for this system. Search the threads here.

This has many trucks parked for weeks or months; does this sound like something you want in your life?

I've read of a couple of instances where new E-junk owners have purchased a backup MGU out of pocket to sustain the availability of their ride.

Does this still sound enticing?

not really, no. its also one of the reasons why Ive held off so far not buying it. the OTHER reason is because its Stellantis; hell, Im still leery on my current truck.
