Black chrome grille

Hey fellas,
I just got this used grille. I believe this color is called black chrome. It looks like it is a film over the standard chrome version (see minor scratch picture). Anyone know if this is true, and or if the coating can be removed — leaving standard chrome. I figure the black chrome will clash with my big horn trim, unless I color match bumpers/handles.

What trim level did it come off of? Possibly a Limited Or the new limited “Tungsten” edition?

You could try some solvents on the bottom of it to see if it will eat through the coating, paint thinner, non diluted super clean, white vinegar, etc.
