Nice to see, still want to try this on my ram that is prone is knock on different filters. The problem is some skell keeps switching fe2 filter at Walmart with super tech then buys the super tech box with the fe2 in it. I think 6 mos in jail minimum if they catch this idiot.
Happens all the time in Pennsylvania. Check your filters inside the box before you pay

My 2015 RAM just went 213,000 miles on Royal purple with no tick ever until the #3 lifter roller seized. Nobody near me heard of redline the other day when I asked and I searched and that stuff is $17 a quart!

If you buy 6 yes a commitment right there but worked for j Howard to have a uoa on every oci as it revealed damage after his wreck, then it is 32 bucks per sample.

Why do you all buy pre paid UOA kits? I like to spend my money wisely so its very hard for me to pay the extra $11.25 to oil analyzers for pre paid envelope they send with the UOA kit, the last sample I mailed a UOA in November it only cost me $6.75 in postage..

Here is my report, to be honest I still don't exactly know what a lot of it means. The oil filter used was a RP 20-820. Probably about 70% of the miles were city driving but I did tow my 10K lb 5th wheel about 500 miles in total. Also did a few hunting trips with a decent amount of desert driving.

Just an outstanding report imo. So the top numbers are wear, alum, iron, and copper main ones. Why I am exciting is those iron numbers are incredible for such a young engine and alum shows you have no cold start problems despite your towing. Now with copper there are three relevant things, hemi's have high copper and you have a young engine and you have high moly which all contribute there. I would expect that to come down with time.

You got tbn and it is so high your oil is as good as new oil despite 5k miles on it. TBN is total base number as in acid fighting part of the base oil. When tbn gets down to below 2 acid can start creating problems in an engine. You have no signs of oil degradation or water intrusion or fuel issues those are line items about tbn, all is perfect.

Oil is built very well and proven with such low wear. I wouldn't change anything but if you wanted to extend your interval you safely can for sure, especially with your filter choice. Your hemi is a low wear hemi and is running great.

look up other hpl oils, sometimes silicone is added and is completely neutral. does not mean dirt. So I looked it up for you, and hpl uses silicone in there oil, probably as anti foam but there are other reasons too, so Blackstone just didn't know that, so it doesn't have anything to do with air filter. Also, the ones I looked up were close to your ppm 15 and 18ppm hpl uoa's I looked at you at 17, all is good nevermind what Blackstone said about silicone doesn't apply to your uoa.

6,000Km's in on HPL SC 0W30 and the RP 20-820.
4,000Km's left to go to reach my 10,000KM OCI and then testing with TAN & TBN, too.
Bought truck new and was at 24,000KM's on the engine when I went with this oil & filter strategy.

The previous OCI's starting with the first OCI at 2,500KM's, just after the break-in, were with a combo of RL HP 5W30 (1-jug full) and HPL SC 0W30 (1-jug full) and the RP 20-820.

Still whisper quiet on cold starts and buttery smooth running, at all times.
Quite happy with this oil and filter strategy, and not down a drop on the oil checker stick either.

The proof though, will be in the report from Blackstone!

Is the cSt viscosity @ 100 C the test to show how well the oil stays in grade? That's one thing I was somewhat worried about running 5w-30 in the summer while towing my 5th wheel. If that's the case, the starting point of the oil was 10.72 and after 4900 miles was 10.49 so I'm assuming all is good.

Yes exactly. None of HPL's oils shear down at all, I'm running this exact oil in my 5.7 too, and plan to run it full time, summer + winter so your report is a nice confidence boost.

Back when I was in trucking know of many trucker with a Cat under the hood who used and trusted them, I have no resent knowledge of how they are doing but don't think they could be worse then Blackstone who as you said is a joke in the trucking industry

Is Blackstone really that bad? From what I understand their test for fuel is not very accurate but that's not a problem for any of us with Rams anyway.

I'd trust Cats results more then Blackstones
