So yesterday it says in my message center that my brake light is out. It shows that my rear right brake light is not woraking, but it is. My center light on the cab is not working. Now it's been cold here and we finally got above freezing for temps yesterday so I washed all the dirt off my truck at the car wash. So I'm not sure if it got wet but shouldn't the light housing be sealed?

My biggest concern is that it's showing the right rear light out when it's the cab brake light. Has anyone had this issue?

Makes sense as that's a brake light as well. The OEM bulbs are pretty damned cheap and I've heard of them blowing out fairly quick. Most people have switched to LED because of that.

As far as the seal, I wouldn't bank on that one too much either, that fails fairly quickly as well. Seems Ram has gone cheap on a few important options.

I would definitely have the seal replaced or do a modification to the 3rd brake light housing. I had a similar issue arise last summer after I had some warranty paint work done on my truck. After the dealership painted my truck, they ran it through their car wash. I noticed on the way home (about 15 miles in) that I had a brake light out. When I got home and upon further inspection, I noticed it was my 3rd brake light bulb that was burned out. I replaced the bulb only and didn't do any other modifications to the housing. About 2 weeks later we had a severe thunderstorm with heavy downpours. Found out the next morning that the housing leaked again and there was at least an inch of water in the bottom of the smaller storage area underneath the rear seats. Needless to say I went to Home Depot and picked up some EPDM, removed the old foam gasket, cleaned the adhesive off, and applied the new barrier. Haven't had a leak since. Might be worth looking into...
