I just notice a rubber hose hanging down from the tee to the ground on top of the rear axle on my 2000 Dodge Ram 1/2 ton 4x4. It didn't look like the reinforced rubber brake line type that goes up to the frame. Also, it appeared to have a white plastic fitting on the end. Could this be some kind of an axel vent line? If so , where does it attach above the rear?

It's the axle vent, it should be ******* as high as possible to keep water from entering. There's one on both differentials, transfer case and transmission.

Thank you! I am a poor old goat still working rotating shifts and I am on 8 different Mopar sites. I also have no garage or typing skills. I would love to be a supporting member but these days my mortgage & eating comes first. It would be a different story if things were a little better and I wish they were!
I'm 70 years old & still laying on the ground fixing my old vehicles as well as my son's!
This is an excellent site! Good folks here!
