I was wondering about doing brakes. When sliding the new pads in is it ok if they are tight against the rotor or do they have to have a space and be kind of springy. I placed mine in and they are tight against the rotor so I stopped in case this was incorrect. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!!

They should set themselves. Push the caliper all they way in and you should be good. Pump the brakes while in park before going anywhere the 1st time.

^^^^^^^ What he said. Use a wire brush or sand paper to knock off the dirt/rust where the pads sit in the cradle and lube the slides with a high temp grease. You want the pads to slide in and out freely. Just don't get grease on the rotor or brake lining.
