Hi all,

So I've been wanting to upgrade to HID's for awhile but before doing so, I thought I'd swap my headlights for stock quad bulb lights. Found some online and had them shipped to me by fedex but when they arrived, a couple of the mounting clips were broken off

2 questions:

1. What is the best way to glue these back on? What product works the best?

2. One of the broken pieces seems to hold some type of knob in place, can anyone tell me what this knob is for and what the broken piece's purpose is?

Thanks in advance for everyone's help.
Cant wait to get the HID's in.

That *** is to adjust/aim your lights so they are not shining into oncoming drivers faces thus blinding.

Awesome.

Thanks for the reply. I had a feeling thats what the knob was for.

Will Gorilla Glue work on the clips too you think? and is it strong enough to do the job?

Welcome to the forum.
Gorilla glue is strong, but I have always been a fan of the quick set 2-part epoxy. I actually used the epoxy to set my projectors when I did my headlight retro....stuff is like concrete!

Thanks bud.

Do you remember what epoxy you used? Would you recommend it over the gorilla glue for the clips?

Sorry, but another question....

Do you know what this piece is? It's broken in pic 2.

I used the "Loctite Epoxy" with the instant mix tube.

The tab in pic 2 is the part of the headlight that is held by the clip/latch in the fender well. When you remove the headlight in your truck you will have to go to the fender well and open a small access panel. Inside you will see a clip/latch, when the clip is down it is actually holding the headlight in with that end piece that is missing in the pic. When you push up on the clip/latch the headlight is released from truck.

Is it crucial? Can I still install the headlight without it effecting anything?

It is very crucial! The only other thing holding the lights in place are two bolt in the front and a small silver "socket type" device in the back. (The silver piece by the blinker bulb location)

Without that piece snapped in place the light is going to move around while driving and it will never sit correctly in the factory location.

Maybe if you found another piece just like it and glued it on, but I seriously doubt it.

Oh man.. you think so? I was worried I was going to be stuck with some paperweights. Any other way to attach the headlight to compensate for that piece not being there?

Sounds good. I'm gonna give it a go tomorrow. I hear their not easy to put in and you have to rip your grill off and stuff. Should be interesting.

Watch the video. Biggest thing is pulling the grill. Have to keep it off the bumper or it could get scratched. I've heard of people covering it with a blanket or towel. I just made sure I didn't let it drop when I pulled it. Don't pull down on the top of it, pull it straight out away from the truck. Hope it goes well.

if you have a loooooong extension you can do it without removing the grill. Thats how I do it now.........I can swap heads in under 10 minutes (yeah yeah, I'm a seasoned f'n pro)
