He has a 2016 ram eco diesel. Going to work it blew on him. Said it sounded like marbles in the oil pan. Is this a common thing? Will the stealership replace it or repair it? It has less than 40k on it.

My 2015 blew last week. It has 82,000m and the dealer wants $13,219.40 to replace the engine, plus whatever else is not included in the long block. I am getting an attorney. There is a design flaw that causes the gear on the cam to slip and put the engine out of time. the valves collide with the pistons and the engine blows. It can do it at an idle or at highway speed. I was doing 70 on a bridge across Lake Pounchatrain, LA. petty hairy.

I thought the EcoD motors had a 100k mile warranty. Have you gone to the ram1500diesel.com forum? Lots of good info there on the little oil burner.
