Bumper tow hitch recommendations needed

My dad had this one, he bought it for their old TT hitch. Unfortunately it didn't fit a 2-5/16 ball, so he put it on the gear shift. It was interesting driving that 3500 GMC dually, and having to grab between the deer's antlers every time you pushed the clutch in.

I cleaned it up and continued to use it. The day after Valentine’s Day my wife and I were on an outing to the city for a fancy hotel and night away from the kids.

It was icing pretty good on I44 east of Springfield, MO and I got rear ended while in a jam. Nobody was hurt, my truck is fine but my hitch did break at the weld and the tubular steel kind of buckled. I thought it was a cast piece of steel and not tubular but I was clearly wrong lol.

The guy that rear ended me wasn’t hurt either. He works for or owns some distributor for Gen Y and replaced my hitch with a behemoth called the Gen Y Boss Hitch.

I think there are way more things to worry about than to have some paint wearing off on hitch. I hope you don't go under your truck weekly and apply oil to the chassis and rub it down til your hands bleed? If so you just wasted all our time here.
