Bumpy driving causing driver window reversing when closing

Did a search and didn't see my problem exactly. I noticed an issue for the first time today when I was leaving a business and going from the parking lot to the road, driving over the curb edge between the driveway and the road which isn't huge but is pronounced. I coincidentally had lifted the switch on my driver window to raise it back up and when the front wheel hit the bump and the window reversed and went back down. I immediately clicked it back up again to raise it and when the rear wheel went over the curb the window again reversed course and went back down. It doesn't happen driving on the road and it doesn't happen when I kind of bang on the window as it's going up. But I did recreate the issue again when I was driving on my dirt road, bumps seem to jar something that is reversing the window. I did try manually putting my hand in there to see if there was a pressure sensitive switch or something that was too sensitive, but didn't seem to be the case. Just wondering if anybody's ever had an issue with this before I trek myself to the dealership.

That's an odd one that I've never had happen but can't say I've ever tried to raise my window on bumpy terrain (although in nearly 8 years I have to think I must have). Have you tried testing it by putting some resistance on it while it's going up? From what I remember mine takes quite a bit. I wouldn't hammer on it for fear of breaking something but I'd probably give it a little pressure and see. Fwiw, these HD trucks do ride rough! My magnet cell phone holder usually fails about once a day as I'm going over a bump.

It may have just been the perfect storm of circumstances, I don't know that I've ever tried to raise it on a bumpy surface. I did push down on the window as it was going up one of the times and that didn't cause it to reverse. Worst case scenario is that it's either a loose wire or just a overly sensitive sensor. The windows are made to stop & reverse if something like a your arm is out the window as a safety feature. The bump probably cause the sensor that controls it to activate the safety feature.

I've had it happen twice in almost 100k miles. Once getting it offroad and again on a super pothole riddled road. As stated above, I chalked it up to excessive jarring triggering the window safety functionality. No issues to this day. I wouldn't be concerned.

Thanks everybody, that's what I was thinking, that there is really not much of a concern. It's not like I'm always trying to roll my windows up and down when I go over bumps. Maybe just monitor it and see if it starts acting up any other time, I still have about 7 months of warranty left.

This will be the first time I've ever run out of warranty via time rather than mileage. Kind of weird.

I work in an area with rough roads, and this happens quite a bit. As mentioned, it’s most likely the sensors that keep the window from rolling up with downward pressure on it.
