So I just got my Trinity and installed 87 Octane. I took the truck out and while I did notice a Night & Day change in the truck, it seemed like I still had trouble breaking loose from the pavement. I burned through that tank and filled up with 93 Octane V Power from Shell and installed the 93 Octane tune and this was again, Night & Day different from the 87 Tune but she still hooks up unless I am going into a corner. I have disable the traction control and put the trans in 3 so I could get the best response but still I am hooking up a little more than expected. I also have S&B CAI and DOD14. What am I missing? Is this a tune issue or a weight issue or ??? Any suggestions?

Ps. the reason I want to burn em is so I can convince the wife that its time to go ahead and lift it instead of buying new tires now and when I lift it. Ha.

ESC (stability control) acts like traction control even with TC off. Think of it like computer controlled limited slip. When one power wheel starts to spin faster than the other it brakes the spinning wheel and detunes the motor. A LSD rear helps because then both power wheels spin at the same rate. You could pull the ABS/ESC fuse and smoke 1 wheel all day long but then you lose ABS. Or like was said above 4.10 gear w/LSD and/or a torque converter.

I drove my friends hemi the other day from a giants game because he drank too much. I was leaving a stop sign and hit the gas, and man the tires wouldn't stop toasting them until I got out of it. My truck has never been able to do that, and his does it w/o even trying. Both trucks are stock hemi's, I have the 3.55 gear and he has something else. I don't know what he has, but it isn't the 3.55, if I had to guess it is a 3.92, but if you really want to toast them get the 4.56. But be prepared, you will have great power all through 0 to 60 mph at will, but your gas mileage will suffer a lot.
