So, i had an issue recently where wind got behind the front lower extensions on my color matched bumper and essentially ripped them off the bumper. In hind site, i'm not surprised considering i was doing 70+ driving into a heavy headwind, and these are only held on by 3 screws on the inside of the fender well.
Lund quickly sent me replacements (will be installing an S&B intake before addressing the flares since the fender liner needs to come out), but needed some advice on how to prevent them from ripping off again. My initial though was to use some clear silicone to help adhere the leading edge to the bumper, but wanted to get some thoughts. Silicone won't be so permanent that i can't get them off if something would damage them down the road, but it should seal them on so that air can't get back there and pry them off.
Thanks for your ideas.
