How hard is it to get the back side of the side mirror off?
And has anyone just replaced that part?

Search the forum for "turn signal camera". The instructions to disassemble are in there (do not skip the WD-40!).

I'm not sure you can buy just the outer piece though.

You may be able to put aftermarket chrome covers on to cover it (if you like chrome).

If it were the driver's side I'd go half with you because I need the insides.

There is a forum member selling a set that he doesn't want to split up. Maybe he'll sell us each a mirror?

He's made a fair offer for $100 for the set. I'm sure he'd go $60 each to split them up and cover extra shipping costs if you are interested. Let me know if you are and I'll ask him about making this deal.
