So I'm looking to add an air intake mod to my new 1500 Classic, but I read that there are certain laws restricting choices in California. Does anyone know what the law(s) are, or can point me to them? And, in that case, can anyone recommend top choices for an air intake that's legal in California at <$200 and >$200?

It's easy enough to swap back for inspections on something such as a CAI. If it were headers or something similar I would definitely choose a CARB approved part or move out of the damn state.

While several companies go through the process to obtain a CARB certification, some do not. Frankly the CARB certified systems deliver questionable improvement in cold air intake. My group of truck friends remove BUT keep the factory CAI. They install what ever CAI system they prefer or make their own BUT they make sure it is easy to remove so that they can re install the factory CAI every two years for smog cert.

So. Where do you stick the CARB sticker that came with the CAI?

A) On the CAI tube?
B) Door jam?
C) Leave it in the plastic baggy in the glove box?
D)???????
