If you are set on modifying your 03, then I recommend you do yourself a big favor and swap the 03 PCM for a 05 PCM. The difference is basically the addition of the other two O2 sensors that the 05 has and the 03 doesn't. Tuning is very limited when using a 03 PCM.

I know they have been developing a 4th gen head but not sure if they have anything that is 3rd gen compatible, worth sending Hemi450hp a message and see if they have heads for 3rd gens yet or are in the process...

My ported heads and cam ran me $2500 in parts and I did the install myself. The ported big valve heads were $2k and the cam was $460 but that was about 5 years ago. I did do the Eagle head swap for the higher compression but the oem heads were the same price for the port work.

Arrington do my heads and I got my cam from Inertia. I would talk with Dave at Modern Muscle or Jay Greene about cams and get your heads done by HHP, Arrington, or Modern Muscle.

Arrington did mine and did a very good job IMO. But on the other hand I was there when they assembled them. Core charge is extra. If using a OEM manifold you might not want to port them too big or I believe there might be a sealing problem.

You could have Craig at Thitek do the porting on a set of heads also. Just another option.....

Is there any reason not to get your heads and cam from the same shop? I'm looking at Inertia as they are close to where I live. A mid range cam with ported heads and a slight compression increase seems like it'd give the truck a nice kick..

No there isn't, some shops do both like Arrington or Inertia but like so many things you can find better from those that specialize. That said Inertia did my gen 3 cam and have been porting heads for years, they just aren't as active in the community as they used to be it seems. Also they have gained the reputation of having less than stellar tunes so I would get the mechanical parts from them but have a different persons tune it. I also haven't heard anything about them regarding VVT cams so I don't know if they even have specs for them besides the stock CompCams.

I recommend a package deal, this will allow you to discuss what your end goal is and they can suggest the parts that best supports the goal. Bigger is not always better... good luck..

I forgot about the vvt. In that case, Josh at HHP has been doing great things with vvt motors.
