I am getting ready to pull the trigger on the kit...cam has to be getting ground down pretty good as I have noticed tick getting much quiter after a few months.

Anyways, Im gonna try to buy the greene cam kit and was hoping that there is a knowledgeable forum member in Southeast Alabama/tristate area that would like to drink free beers, eat pizza, and give me peace of mind while doing this job as I have never been this deep into an engine.

I am very mechanically inclined but this is a new maintenance item for me.

Ive read the guides, watched vids, and all that jazz and it don't seem too daunting but this is my baby, and daily driver and has to go well lol.

Many guys have changed lifters only to have it still tick, I wouldn't change lifters until I at least had a misfire code show up. Up to you- Cam Instal Thread.

I have the misfire code - soft i guess. It runs a tiny bit rough but not terrible

The hemi will never be a quiet engine I replaced my cam/lifters 10kmiles ago and it still sounds like a sewing machine at times:banghead:. Also You will see some people not pull the oil pump to re set the timing me being one of them and usually ends badly. Loosen the bolts on the oil pan so it tilts down a bit so you can get to the bolt and pull the oil pump it will save you a lot of BS. You should also change the timing chain guides and while heads are off replace manifold bolts/gaskets.

Well, mine is pretty quiet other than the pinging lifter now. It was very quiet when I bought it with 46k miles.

And you know, at 150k now, I aint too upset about having to replace this part because other than this, i havnt had any issues with the truck. What my problem is, is i still owe 9k on it, its my only vehicle, and the aftermarket parts and tuner are really a financial setback, and when I do the job, i HAVE to do it right and it has to run...I am even thinking about throwing an OEM spec MDS cam and lifters in it even though I hate not taking the opportunity to squeeze some HP out of it but man the cost difference is significant.
