09 ram 5.7 hemi I did a cam and lifter swap with stage 1 cam and none MDS lifters Witch I deleted the whole MDS system and I put a new timing chain set with new phaser added the VVT lock out in the phaser also but I just took the lock out thinking it was the issue but it wasn't I have checked every rod and rocker everything is moving and working correctly.the problem I'm having is the idleing is allover the place and it will shut down when stopping but start right back up then on highways it want to downshift on the smallest incline which it never done this before it's like the power is there but the torque isn't and at this point I'm wondering if the timing is off by a tooth.my truck is on 37" tires and I have 3.92 gearing it never had this issue turning big tires at all and by the way new oil and fuel pump to.im just at a loss at this point.if anyone knows what it could be please let me know.

Reminds me of something that happened in 1967-68
I worked at a Chevron Station in a small country town, just pumped gas & serviced vehicles.

Across the street was a Texaco station, they sponsored a 3/8ths Circle Track Race car. I was on the Pit Crew, so i was over at the Texaco Station when i was not working at the Chevron.

This guy came into the Texaco Station & he wanted the mechanic to find out why he could not get his 1968 Plymouth GTX to idle smoothly.
Vance the mechanic tinkered with it to try smooth the idle up. He put the car on the shops engine analyzer & told the customer that it was properly tuned.
The customer mentioned that it did not seem to run right.
The mechanic told the guy that they should go for a ride & then he told me to sit in the back seat on the passenger side.

We went across this flat area & stopped at the bottom of a fairly steep paved hill.
Then we went up that hill faster than i ever went up that hill. i know that at one point, we were doing 125 MPH

We got back to the station & the mechanic thanked the owner for a great ride, that 440 Cu. In. engine was running just as it was designed.

You wanted that Camshaft for a reason & it may just be acting up just like it was designed by you

You need HP Tuners and custom tune dude. And the Phase Locker / Limiter depends on the cam you have. Stage 1 cams usually only require a phase limiter.

Give Flying Ryan a shout he will set u up.

I have a startup tune for a stage 1 cam here if you need it.

this is why I always tell people to buy Cam Swap kits directly from the Tuner you choose to go with.

I have the i3 Diablo tuner but nothing custom. I was hoping it would be tuning issues. The start up tune is what I would need
