Good Morning

I'm looking for info or help related to the CAN BUS system. I am wondering if I can use the Parking Sensor buttons as a switch? Currently I have my park sense module unplugged and disabled as I installed aftermarket bumpers. So those buttons are not being used. I'm wanting to know if it is possible to use these to run something like aftermarket lights, or another auxiliary relay? Any help is much appreciated. I am pretty ignorant on the CAN BUS system. Thank You

I believe the button module itself has the commands stored so no matter what, when pressed it will send the park sense commands. You can however buy a new switchbank with auxiliary buttons and park sense deleted.

The only way to make this work the way you'd like is to have some sort of CANBUS adapter in between that intercepts the park sense signal and translates it to some custom command you'd want.

That would work. I am struggling to find, if possible, a way to do that. I have the wiring diagram for the module itself.

Is there any sort of adapter you are aware of that would work in this way?

I have thought about the factory aux switches. Currently that's not an option.

Appreciate the info.

This maybe an easy way for you to get use out of that area.

I'm thinking about going this route. I don't want to lose my heated/cooled seat buttons. I know they are in the Uconnect as well. Just prefer the buttons.

I know @Roman217 has done something similar for a different application on our trucks (HVAC commands for 12" UAX in 4th Gen trucks). He might be able to sell you one with modified programming for your application or talk you through developing your own? Try sending him a PM.

That's a great price, note though the switchbank itself is not inlcuded.
