Yes. You would pay cost for the heads, install, and tune. It will be around $1500 for the heads, $450 for the install, $100 for the dyno time. You are looking at roughly $2100 installed and tuned.

yes i get to stay with superchips :D

As you grow older and think back over things you've could have done or not have done you'll smack yourself in the head and say "what was I thinking". I think this may very well be one of these moments. Good luck...

I might be missing something but I see where your talking about 100 for a tune? Are you taking it to superchips for them to do a custom tune because I dont think any shops have the alv to do custom stuff with those, only Sct and DSP. $1500 for the heads is not bad if its a good shop and is that porting only or upgraded valves also? The easiest way to change those springs during your cam install will prob be taking the heads off and fighting them on a bench unless you get one of the two tools to do it while they are on the truck.

The tool DA makes works real well for the spring change with the heads on.

And once you get the heads off

These motors are really simple once you get all the elec off of em. I will be posting more pics once I pull my motor out of the truck.

I have also heard good things about DA's tool but it had to be beefed up some from what Sam had posted.

I had to beef mine up when I did the cam bc the threaded rod bent. Cut it off and welded a harder bolt in it's place. After that the tool worked flawlessly.

Going to say that kind of defeated the purpose of having the spring tool.
