Is there a programmer that allows the mds to be disabled available at this time?

I'm not an expert, but I believe a lot of the tuners out there allow you to disable the MDS.

I'm fairly certain this is not the answer we give members here. I'm sure the idea at RF is to be helpful. Not everyone that finds their way on to this forum is a forum expert.

Not sure about the 1500's but on my 6.4 if you use the gear selector select your gear it will turn MDS off. So say I select 6th gear it'll still use all the gears but will not use MDS.

I do run tow/haul in town. Keeps from getting stuck between 1st and 2nd when I turn on to streets. My Eco light never comes on in tow/haul, but I've heard that doesn't mean MDS is actually off.

i get the eco light with tow/haul. i don't believe it has anything to do with MDS or at least MDS is only part of it, seems to be more about how much throttle you're using but i've yet to find anyone that actually knows what all goes into triggering the indicator

if you have an 8 spd. MDS will not shut off in tow/haul. if you want to run mds off just select gears and go all the way to 8. Thats how im running till my tuner gets here.

I get the ECO message all the time and I've got a V6 so it isn't just for MDS...

Thanks for the replies, I guess I could have been more specific. I am mainly asking in regards to the 6.4 in a 2500. Hoping to buy this fall as soon as I am done remodeling the home. It's even better if it can be bypassed without buying anything as has been suggested so thanks again.

No apologies necessary. I understand sarcasm well as I am quite fluent in it. Sometimes it's just easier to ask people who know about something specific than to search all the different companies out there.

So in short, yes. Just select 6th instead of D. It uses all gears and shifts normal, just doesn't use MDS. That's how my 6.4 works.
