Can someone help me figure out why in the hell this would happen?

Driving down to my son‘s Boy Scout adventure this weekend, and this happened. Yup, that’s right all three studs sheered off.

Have any tire work done lately? Maybe someone forgot to tighten the lugs?

I replaced the hubs maybe 6 months ago. I did use the impact just to get the lugs on, but I used my breaker to hand tighten.

The last 2 popped while unloading it. It is with a mechanic and should be done tomorrow. We are replacing the hub again.

When is the last time you verified the torque calibration of your breaker bar?

I know from experience, it's quite easy to exceed the specified torque with a breaker bar.

I use a torque wrench after a quick snugging and sometimes need to back off the torque a bit.

Maybe, now you understand the value of using a torque wrench.

Why did you have to replace the hub 6 months ago?

Sounds like either you used cheap chinesium replacements or someone torqued incorrectly. I absolutely smoked a curb drifting once and nothing bad happened to the hub (de-beaded tire only), you didn't say what you were doing but assuming normal use, there is no reason they should break unless something was wrong to begin with.
