well........and correct me if I'm wrong - but the fans are put on in a manner that they shouldn't loosen up. Reverse threads........which makes it fun to get off too.

Oh, I know what it was, keester here was doing donuts in the sand yesterday and it flexed! LOL

haha oh you saw that eh? Actually I did more flexing going over the dunes...

best part? With a tuner (since you are a 2010) you can set the fan to come on at a lower temp, if you want to.

Hmm....this would apply to me as well. Even if they cover this under warranty....I may be ordering one of these in the near future!

They didn't give me any trouble when the CV boot cracked, even though that was likely something that happened off road at some point. They replaced the entire CV shaft, not just the boot. Maybe I'm expecting too much out of them now.

hope they are nice to ya!

Yea I can....haven't pulled my superchips out in awhile, think it's about time, haha. What would be a good temp to set it to?

oh hell, I'd guess 195? I think it comes on at 212 now, so can't hurt to be a little lower, especially in your hot ass town.

You're right on both parts lol. The time I'm thinking of happened when a buddy turned his truck off the first time after replacing his fan clutch lol

If it was a body lift deal the fan could've been slowly cutting through over bumps maybe or stuff like that. And just so happened when you turned on your truck this time it caught an edge it cut through and destroyed it. Lol.

f yeah man.

I did a group buy on them and lost my ass. LOL

f'n shipping!

But yeah, TYC makes an eFan that is a DIRECT DROP IN for our Hemi. Its the same one used on the V6 trucks. I've been running it for about a month now. Its great stuff!

Amazon has a great price on it right now - Amazon.com: TYC 622320 Replacement Cooling Fan Assembly for Dodge Ram Pickup: Automotive

My cost on these (with shipping to most people) is literally $120.....I wish I could be competitive on those, but the boxes are f'n huge!

so i went to amazon and filled in the info for my truck and amazon says this fan does not fit

I'd say anything is possible.

Whatever happened, it just started sometime yesterday. Even when I took the shroud off, the fan was still ripping that hole even bigger. I can see the body lift causing it, but I'm surprised that it hasn't come up before. I know I'm not the first person to install this body lift. It's baffling.

Of course not, the fan is for a V6 Ram as a STOCK application. This isn't a stock application.

lol, yea i know that now, JJ set me straight, all though i guess i should have read the description about it being for the V6 :suicide:

Just got off the phone with the dealer...they are so backed up right now that they said it may be Thursday or Friday before it can even be looked at. Geez.

Semi-good news...they will set me up with a free rental in the mean time.

Well after looking closely back over the body lift instructions, it says to remove the fan shroud and I never see where it says to put it back on...so I guess it was supposed to stay off after all. I'm just surprised it's been fine up until now. As far as I can tell the fan is fine. Maybe it's just the angle I was looking I thought it might have been slightly bent.

Either way, I'm going to hold off on taking it in to the dealer as it doesn't sound like it wouldn't be anything that they would be at fault for. I may go ahead and get that eFan like JJ was talking about and just not worry about it.

Well it's confirmed....I was in the wrong. I confirmed with a friend who recently did the body lift on his truck. The fan shroud should have been removed altogether. I just find it weird that it waited until 3 months after to really start tearing the shroud up.

Thanks for the help on this one. All you guys that said it was the body lift....you're 100% correct!

good news is that you don't have to take your truck into the dealer now
