I have never worked with this stuff before, but it looks interesting, so I ordered a bunch of it.

Has anyone used this stuff before, interior, exterior, engine bay?

My initial idea was to use it under the hood to cover the Vararam cover with it, cover the pcm cover, and cover the custom battery cover I have on order.

Next I would like to add a little bit to the cab... maybe some on the dash and doors?

Last, I started thinking about adding a little to my front bumper... (I don't wanna over do it, though)

Any thoughts? Or pics?

I had an interior kit on one of my cars. Held up really well. But accent is the key word you don't want to over do it like you said.

Looks pretty cool! Does it come in any other colours or patterns? Wonder how it would hold up compared to a dip kit?

Where'd you get it from?

Ebay, and it comes in a few colors: black, silver, gray, red, blue, yellow (matte, glossy)...

People are putting this stuff on their hood (not me, don't worry) and it's holding up well, or so I have read.

I think my thread sounded like I was ready to pour this stuff all over... lol, not at all. Just a few tasteful accents here and there. :)

Don't tell anyone, but I accidentally ordered 14 feet of it! :banghead::emotions122:

Hmmm, wonder where you might have gotten the idea for that from

That's all I've done with it so far. But I'm debating doing the air vent surrounds as well. As said above, accent is key with this stuff. Don't want to over do it and end up looking like your truck rolled off the set of the next fast and furious movie

I haven't done it... but from what I have read, using a heat gun in moderation will help you mold it, especially on curves and edges.

Don't remember if it was from the forum or another though... or I would point you in the right direction

I have used it in the past, it's nice looking, but it's tough around bends and corners.

I put some on my center console, and it doesn't look bad, but it took time and I screwed up a little on the top bends. Best part about it is that I can just remove it at any time.

I might plasti dip instead of carbon fiber the interior.
It's alot easier to spray, then it is to lay down paper. It's like comparing wall paper to painting a room. It just takes time and to make sure things line up.

A lot depends on the brand of the film too!
The 3M DiNoc works magically as far as I'm concerned.
Heat Gun on low and I swear you could wrap a golf ball with the stuff!

Thanks for all the replies!!!

Any idea how it installs? Does it take water and dish soap like the vinyl hood decals?

I installed mine with out water just take it slow if you have to peel off to reset it so you don't stretch it.

I had done my old center stack with it. Quite easy to work with, I'd just picked up 2 yards to play around with and I liked it, though I tried using it on my new center stack with the moulded gauge pods and I cuoldn't get it to form properly, too many sharp curves. Getting straight visible edges can be difficult, but if it can be wrapped around an edge that's the best way.

I like that green! So you just peel the back off and stick it on??

I was reading that a heat gun can make this stuff really easy to form and shape, even in cracks and curves, etc..
Fortunately, I will have 14' x 5' of this stuff, so I can learn how to work with it before I apply it.

A heat gun can only go so far before it really starts to distort the pattern and look like crap. I just wasn't able to get it looking nice with my new center console, which was a shame because I loved the CF look and it hid some of the errors in the original fiberglass work I did, because I had to paint the 2nd one I had to easily add another 8 hours of work to the panel.

I am thinking of doing the column's sides, where yours are green, in the cf and that's it for the dash area.

I order the BT lock set in black with designer edge. And I am gonna go gray and black with bits of chrome/silver-ish on my interior (very subtle).
But I might sneak some red lighting in there, so it's a little spicy sometimes, but not all the time.

That's the same areas that I'd like to do on mine. Just have to figure out if/how to take them apart?

Edit. Maybe a bit on the door panels as well around the handles?

Are you gonna do orange??

The column part just pops off, I have done that before, but I have to take a look at the vents to see how that works...

Around the door handles sounds good too.
